Now that Tumblr is a Yahoo! property, just like the beleaguered Flickr, some are predicting the service’s death already and the deal hasn’t even been officially announced yet. Those people are dramatic teens who use Tumblr but that’s still a pretty big deal. 

Dear Yahoo,

If you plan on buying a website that has millions of users who adore it, you probably shouldn’t insult its users. A lot of people don’t understand this site, and there is no doubt that you are one of them. By calling us, “dramatic teens” and claiming that we, “sit around after school and make endless 1D gifs” you sure are doing a very good job helping your users want to stay your users. It may be hard for your “grown-up” minds to fit around this concept, but tumblr has saved lives. There are a lot of people who go on this site seeking a reason not to do end themselves, and quite frankly we’ve tried our very hardest to answer them. It isn’t a fact, but if you dare to ruin this site, you may be ending lives.

I am insulted, as well as thousands, maybe even millions of other bloggers out there. If you weren’t rude maybe we’d dislike you a little less.
